Kamiak Butte Hike and ORC Tour: Palouse Outdoor Festival

Spend a little quality time in the great outdoors of the Palouse! This easy 3.1 mile hike through the scenic landscapes of Kamiak Butte is sure to be an adventure that you will remember for years to come! On this trip we will take you to one of our county parks to overlook the entire Palouse. This trip is both affordable and close, allowing patrons to maximize their time in the great outdoors. We'll start this trip with a full tour of the Outdoor Recreation Center, highlighting all of the resources and trips you can take advantage of for the rest of the year. Trip rating is level 1. No experience necessary! Trip cost includes transportation and trip leaders (food is NOT included so bring snacks and water). Cancellation Policy: In order to minimize our environmental impact, maintain facilitator-to-participant ratios, meet permit criteria, and transportation logistics, ORC trips are often programmed for small groups (typically up to 6 participants with 2 facilitators). Late cancellations can seriously impact our ability to accommodate others and recover costs. • Cancellations made up until 2 weeks prior to the registration deadline will receive a full refund. • Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the registration deadline receive 50% refund. • Sorry, no refunds are given past the registration deadline. Participants may not be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs during an ORC activity. Drugs and alcohol are not permitted in WSU vehicles/vessels or at campsites (or other accommodations) at any time. Come check out the slackline course and try bouldering at the Chinook front lawn! This clinic will be instructional and have open time for you to practice the skills you learn and already know. We will show you how to set up a slackline on the course as well as provide some tips and tricks for getting started with slacklining and bouldering. Slacklines will be available for use or you can bring your own. Program rating is level 1. No experience necessary! Participants may not be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs during an ORC activity. Drugs and alcohol are not permitted in WSU vehicles/vessels or at campsites (or other accommodations) at any time. Sunset Paddle (Kayak) & Yoga: Palouse Outdoor Festival

Located only 30 minutes from WSU’s campus, the Snake River is perhaps one of the most well-known and scenic rivers in the entire United States. Come enjoy this beautiful river as you watch the sun set. Beginning with a relaxing yoga session, participants will take in the beautiful scenery before exploring the river in their own sea kayak. Paddling down the Snake River will surely put anyone in a calm and relaxed state of mind. This is one of our most popular and well-liked trips- so register early! Trip rating is level 1. No experience is necessary. Trip cost includes; kayak rental, yoga mat, transportation, yoga instructor, and an Adventure Facilitator (food is NOT included so bring a snack and some water). This trip runs rain or shine. Palouse Outdoor Festival Shuttle

Need a ride to the Palouse Outdoor Festival at Wawawai Park? Shuttles will be leaving the ORC lobby at 9:00am on August 25th. You will arrive to the park shortly after registration opens. There, you will have the opportunity to sign up for programs you wish to participate in. The shuttles will leave Wawawai Park at 3:00pm to the ORC lobby the same day. The festival takes place from 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m. at Wawawai County Park with registration beginning at 9:30am!
