Intro to Powerlifting at Down Under

Introduction to Powerlifting is a small, group-based 8 week (16 session) training that is focused on strength adaptations though a strategically designed linear periodization program created by one of our nationally certified personal trainers. The focus of the program will be geared towards three main compound lifts, the bench, the squat, and the dead lift. Each individual in the group will work at their own ability to achieve strength goals in each lift in a safe and strategic manner based on their own percentages. Early in the program, you will be tested for your maximum strength output in each lift, and once again at the completion of the 8 weeks.

Boot Camp Basics w/ Matt

CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensities. CrossFit is broad, general and inclusive fitness that seeks to prepare participants for any physical or unknown contingency. You will work on the foundational movements of CrossFit while increasing your knowledge of fundamental CrossFit exercises and increasing your work capacity. Intro to CrossFit is an 8 week course that meets twice a week. Through the 16 classes, you will be taught the fundamental CrossFit movements, perform a Workout of the Day (WOD) and begin tracking strength numbers.
 
 

Intro to Yoga, Evening

This class is great for yoga practitioners of all levels! Whether you have never stepped on a mat, or you have been practicing for years, this class will build you a solid foundation. U-Fit 4.0 Training @ Down Under

This class is to assist with those competing in the U-Fit 4.0 fitness challenge. The U-Fit 4.0 Challenge is a free 12 week fitness & wellbeing challenge tailored to WSU students, designed to improve fitness and grades! Students participate by using any UREC program/facility to complete the U-Fit 4.0 Workout Routine, or their own activity. Best of all, two undergraduate participants will receive a 1,000 dollar scholarship given by ASWSU. To see more about the program and how to win go here: https://urec.wsu.edu/fitness/aswsu-ufit-40/ By registering for a U-Fit 4.0 Training session, challengers will be able to work with a nationally certified personal trainer who will take them through two of the four days of the U-Fit 4.0 Strength and Conditioning Workout routine. Competitors will also be able to ask trainers questions about the other days of the routine, fitness tips in general, and anything that relates to the U-Fit 4.0 program.
