05/31 Lead Climbing Clinic

Are you getting comfortable top-roping, and want to learn a new skill that you can apply outside? Lead climbing is the method of climbing where you clip your rope into protection as you ascend, rather than being belayed through one anchor at the top of the climb (top roping). In this clinic we’ll teach you the skills needed to effectively lead climb and belay.

The clinic will be instructional and have open time for students to practice skills they have been taught and skills they already know. Harness, shoes, and belay devices will all be provided.

Program rating is level 3: Participants must have a belay qualification through the WSU SRC Climbing Wall, and have a strong base knowledge of roped climbing methods and systems.

Cancelation Policy:

In order to minimize our environmental impact, maintain facilitator-to-participant ratios, meet permit criteria, and transportation logistics, ORC programs are designed for small groups (typically up to 6 participants with 2 facilitators). Late cancellations can seriously impact our ability to accommodate others and recover costs.

• Cancellations made up until 2 weeks prior to the registration deadline will receive a full refund.
• Cancellations made within 2 weeks prior to the registration deadline receive 50% refund.
• Sorry, no refunds are given past the registration deadline.

All health forms must be completed/ submitted by the registration deadline.
