Training Curriculum  

Our training curriculum meets Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) Challenge Course Practitioner (CCP) standards.

Level 1 Challenge Facilitator Training and Certification

The perfect training if you want to work at a camp or get started as an experiential teacher, trainer, therapist. We exceed ACCT CCP Level 1 standards by teaching and testing basic static high course rescues along with basic methodology, curriculum and program design, experiential facilitation skills, low and high course safety skills, and policies and procedures. 

Level 1 training includes certification testing. Level 1 certification is valid for one year.

Level 1 Challenge Facilitator Certification/Recertification

Testing for certification or recertification is a day long process. There will be a written exam and practical skills exam. WSU level 1 certification includes basic static rescue; you may request a process document prior to testing.

You will need to submit documentation of one of the following requirements at least two weeks in advance:

  • Approved 40-hour level 1 training
  • Approved practitioner portfolio with 100 documented hours of facilitation
  • Current level 1 certification with 50 documented hours of facilitation or 8 documented hours of additional training
