PAC-10 Fitness Challenge

Pac 10

October 26 - 30, 2009

What is the Pac-10 Fitness Challenge?

Help Washington State University secure the title of the "Pac-10's most active school" by participating in the Pac-10 Fitness Challenge beginning October 26.

The Pac-10 Fitness Challenge is a conference-wide initiative designed to promote regular and healthy physical activity. The Challenge is open to all students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters, and includes any type of physical activity such as running and walking, swimming, biking and more. Minutes of activity completed will be recorded, and a weighted score will be generated based on each institution's enrollment and number of faculty/staff. Just sign up and affiliate yourself with WSU and watch as we lead the Cougars to victory!

During last year's Pac-10 Fitness Challenge, the Cougars were well on their way to logging enough minutes to be deemed "the most active school in the Pac-10," until Stanford snuck up to claim the title. Although Washington State University logged the most total minutes with 733,638 and had 3,455 participants, Stanford won the competition with 592,102 weighted minutes compared to the Cougar's weighted total of 564,168 minutes. That is a difference of only 27,934 minutes!

As a conference, the Pac-10 has a goal of reaching more than five million minutes and having over 20,000 participants. The Cougars strive to increase total participants by more than 4,000 and total minutes by 15%, but they cannot do this without the help of alumni and supporters. So log on and track your activity to help us reach our goals!
