Proper Steps:

Sit in the machine with your ankles locked behind the ankle pad, and your hands resting on the hand grips
Engage your core by pressing your belly button into your spine
Create the crunch motion by bringing your rib cage to your hips, and vice versa
Control the weight as you return to the starting postion
Repeat for desired amount of repetitions
