Proper Steps:

Carefully read information printed on machine
Begin seated facing machine with feet flat on floor and legs locked under lap pad
Brace core by keeping your rib cage tucked and belly button pulled into your spine
Pack shoulder blades by pulling them down and together 
Begin the repetition by pulling elbows down into your back pockets
Control the weight's return to starting position
Without letting the weight settle, repeat for desired amount of reps
