Proper Steps:
Begin seated with your thighs under the lap pad and the balls of your feet on the foot rest
Raise the lap pad by performing a calf raise and pull the safety catch lever to unlock the machine
Control the weight as your heels move towards the floor and hold for a second or two
Press the balls of your feet into the footrest and perform a calf raise, holding at the top for a second or two
Repeat for desired amount of repetitions
Once finished, lock the machine by pushing the safety lever
