Proper Steps:

Begin in a slightly wider than shoulder-width stance with a KB in the overhead position
Keep your eye on the KB
Brace your core by drawing in your belly button and keeping the rib-cage tucked
With your free hand on the inside of the same side thigh, hinge your hips back and control your descent with your legs before returning to the starting position.
**note: at the bottom of this movement, your hands should be in-line
