Proper Steps:

Lie flat on your back 
Brace your core by pulling your belly button into your spine, and tuck your rib-cage towards your hips
Raise one leg into the air and keep it there
With one heel locked into the ground, squeeze your glutes and raise your hips towards the ceiling, and hold for a second before returning to the starting position
