Proper Steps:

Assume a high-plank position with both hands beneath and slightly wider than your shoulders  
Brace your core by drawing your belly button to your spine 
Aim to maintain a straight line from your heels to the crown of your head 
Lower yourself with control until your chest touches the floor 
Explosively press yourself back up into the starting position
