Proper Steps:

From a tall, athletic hip-width stance, Sprint forward in short choppy steps, driving your knees to your chest after each foot strike 
Foot strike should be directly below the hips, landing on the mid foot and springing off the ball of the foot 
Arm swing should resemble that of a sprint, with movement of the hands from “cheek to cheek” 
Minimize as much upward bounce of the torso and hips as possible
