Proper Steps:

Stand in the widest natural stance that allows your knees to track horizontally over your toes as your squat to one side, with your trail leg maintaining a minimal bend
Control your descent as your squat to one side with the intention of sitting on your heel
Maintain a vertically aligned spine parallel to the shin of your squat leg with a braced core
