Proper Steps:

Lay flat on your back with both legs extended
Point on of your legs at the ceiling, and hook the instep of your foot using a band, towel, or strap
Drive your belly button into the floor, and leverage the strap to create a stretch throughout the glute, hamstring, and calf of your forward leg
Hold for a number of deep breaths, or for time, evenly on both legs
