Proper Steps:

-Begin in a slightly wider than shoulder width stance with your toes angled straight ahead
-Tighten your core and stand straight keeping good posture
-While keeping your posture move your weight onto your toes lifting you as high as you can go
-Once you get as high as you can while keeping your balance slowly lower yourself to the ground and stand flat on your feet all while keeping your posture
