2019 Camp Weekly Themes
Week 1: Adventures of CKC June 10-14
Kick your summer adventures into gear with Cougar Kids Camp. In our first week at camp it’s all about adventure. We’re trading in books for games, swimming, and fun! Let your summer journey start here by reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. *Please note this week of camp is prior to Pullman School District’s last day of school*
Week 2: SuperFit June 17-21
To become a superhero, you must first go through training, so in our second week at camp we will be focusing on fitness. The superhero training regimen will consist of a variety of cross training, sports conditioning, martial arts, yoga, Zumba, and aquatic sessions, as well as learning about how food can make a superhero stronger. Campers will also work with our superhero trainers to get themselves ready to save the day in our superhero obstacle course at the end of the week.
Week 3: Get Wild Week June 24-28
Nature can be a superhero’s best friend, so we partnering with our Outdoor Programs and heading outside for some great adventures this week. Campers will learn about Leave No Trace principles, hike Kamiak Butte, learn how to setup camp, test out some knot tying, try slacklining, and more. Campers will also have the opportunity to learn how to navigate the waters in some aquatic vessels in the pool. Any camper in 3rd grade or higher may register for our overnight camping adventure as we turn South Fairway into our very own camping resort.
Week 4: Save the Day July 1-5
Come celebrate our nation’s birthday and meet some real superheroes this week at camp. We will spend plenty of time in the pool, see how our superhero skills have been developing, and play our favorite camp games. CKC will welcome our local Firefighters & ROTC to camp for some fun activities this week. Don’t forget about a trip to the Planet3 to round out the week. *There will be no camp on July 4*
Week 5: Super Cougs July 8-12
A superhero needs a good education, so this week we send our campers to college! No need to worry about exams or tests, we’ll be trading course work for the lighter side of being a Cougar. From a trip to Ferdinand’s, seeing the sights on-campus, and meeting some Cougar athletes, our campers are sure to make the grade this week. Don’t forget to register for our second of three overnight adventures of the summer where campers will get to spend a night in a residence hall. GO…COUGS!!
Week 6: Fly to New Heights July 15-19
A superhero needs to have a sharp mind and be able to problem solve, so this week at camp we are taking our minds to new heights. Our Challenge program staff will assist us in learning how to communicate and work as a team, navigate conflict, and respect differences in others. Campers will play fun games and participate in problem solving activities, while learning life skills for the future. An opportunity explore new heights on the high ropes course awaits at the end of the week. Our third and final overnight will take place at the SRC with all campers, regardless of age, welcome to participate.
Week 7: AquaCougs July 22-26
A superhero needs to be well rounded in all environments so in our final week of camp we will be hitting the water. Campers will get a chance to play nautical themed games and enjoy some extra time in the pool this week. Not a strong swimmer? No worries our certified superhero swim instructors will help train you. At the end of the week campers will get a chance to show off their skills in some fun water themed activities.
