Journey Into Summer Week: June 12-16

Don’t stop believing…schools out and summer is here!  Cougar Kids Camp is back for another exciting summer filled with games, swimming, adventures and fun!  Let your summer journey start here by reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.

Fit For Fun: June 19-23

In our second week at camp we will be focusing on how fun fitness can be. The UREC fitness department will be helping campers learn about being active and the fun side of fitness. The fitness regimen will consist of a variety of cross training, sports conditioning, yoga, Zumba, and aquatic sessions, as well as a nutrition workshop to learn about how food can make us stronger. Campers will also work with our personal trainers to get themselves ready to take on the Cougar obstacle course at the end of the week.

Campers Commandeer the SRC: June 23

After a week of fitness training, campers of any age can enjoy an evening of fun activities and then camp overnight in the SRC! This overnight is for campers enrolled in Fit for Fun Week and will happen on Friday, June 23. Campers will have dinner with their family and then come back to camp around 7pm and participate in activities inside the SRC and stay the night in tents on one of our courts. Campers can then be picked up by 9am Saturday morning.

Cougar Challenge Week: June 26-30

Ready for a challenge? This week at camp is dedicated to focusing on fun experiences and personal growth for campers. Our Challenge program staff will assist us in learning how to communicate and work as a team, navigate conflict, and respect differences in others. Campers will play fun games and problem solving activities while learning life skills for the future. At the end of the week campers have the option to participate in the ropes course here at the SRC and show their Cougar growth.

Red, White, & Blue Week: July 3-7

Come celebrate week four with us as we celebrate our nation’s birthday.  Though we will not be at camp Tuesday, in observance of the Fourth of July, camp is still going to be jam-packed with our favorite activities.  We will spend plenty of time in the pool and at the climbing wall, along with playing our favorite camp games. CKC will also welcome our local Firefighters & ROTC to camp for some fun activities this week.  *Registration fee is discounted this week.  There will be no camp on Tuesday, July 4.*

Pirate Week: July 10-14

Ahoy campers, Pirate week is back! During our sixth week at camp we’ll be setting off for adventures typical of the seven seas. We’ll enjoy the swashbuckling pirate times and search for hidden treasures. Get ready to brave the tides of the SRC pool, climb the masts on the SRC climbing wall, and even take on a pirate’s obstacle course. It will be all the fun of being a pirate, without having to swab the deck or walk the plank.

Explore the Outdoors Week: July 17-21

Lions, tigers, and campers…oh my! In our sixth week at camp we are heading outside as Cougar Kids Camp partners with our Outdoor Programs for the opportunity to explore the outdoor world in a fun and safe environment. Camper will learn about Leave No Trace principles, campsite setup, compass and map navigation, and more. To cap off the week we will take the campers on a hike facilitated by our Adventure Program staff. Don’t forget about our second overnight experience. Campers entering grades 3-6 can register for a camping adventure as we turn South Fairway into our very own camping resort!

Cougar Camping Trip: July 21

Campers 3rd-6th grade will tent out under the stars at South Fairway Playfield and learn how to plan their own camping trip. This overnight is for campers enrolled in Explore the Outdoors Week and will happen on Friday, July 21. Campers will have dinner with their family and then come back to camp around 6:30pm and head to South Fairway to set up camp and have fun prior to tent camping under the stars. On Saturday morning, campers will be brought back to the SRC and be available to pick up by 9am.

Mini Cougar Week: July 24-28

GO…COUGS!!  This week we send our campers to college!  No need to worry about exams or tests, we will be trading course work for the lighter side of being a Cougar.  From a trip to Ferdinand’s, exploring the sights on-campus, and meeting some Cougar athletes, our campers are sure to make the grade this week. Don’t forget to register for our last overnight adventure of the summer where campers will get to spend a night in a residence hall!

Cougar College Experience: July 27

Campers 3rd-6th grade will stay in a residence hall, participate in activities experienced by college students, and eat breakfast at one of the campus dining center. This overnight is for campers enrolled in Mini Cougar Week and will happen on Thursday, July 27. Campers will go straight from the end of camp to a dinner center on the WSU campus for dinner. After dinner, campers will check in to their residence hall, explore some of the WSU campus, and play games to round out the night.
