SRC 360 Visual Tour Transcript

The Student Recreation Center building is a two-story building with large glass windows and a set of three double glass doors at the entrance. “Welcome to the Student Recreation Center” text pops in. “Welcome to the Student Recreation Center” text pops out. 

Walking into and entering the SRC through two sets of tall glass doors is the SRC lobby with the membership services desk in the center. A lobby with a small seating area sits to the immediate right of the entrance doors. An SRC employee waves and greets the patron. To the immediate right of the desk, the patron swipes their hand beneath the hand swipe and enters through the gate.

A few dozen paces to the left of the entrance gate is the service desk for checking out equipment. “Service Desk – Check Out Equipment” text appears. An SRC employee hands a patron a basketball and the patron walks out of frame. Panning right past the desk, another SRC employee behind the Service Desk works on equipment. “Service Desk – Check Out Equipment” the text disappears. To the right of the equipment desk and turning left down the hallway, there are two vending machines and lockers lining the left wall. At the end of the wall is a staircase leading to the second floor. To the right of the stairs is an elevator.

At the end of the hall on the left are two gendered locker rooms. “Locker Rooms” text appears. Panning from left to right, the women’s locker room is on the left and men’s on the right. “Locker Rooms” text disappears. Panning across the hall, “Gender Neutral Locker Room” text appears. Opening the door and entering the locker room, there is a wheelchair accessible shower in the back left corner, two bathroom stalls across from the shower, and two sinks and a set of lockers to the right of the entrance door. “Gender Neutral Locker Room” text disappears.

Exiting the gender-neutral locker room and walking back down the hallway, past the entrance gate, is the weight room. “Weight Room – Free Weights, Resistance Machines, Heavy Bag, Weightlifting Racks” text appears. Patrons use dozens of various resistance machines, weightlifting racks, and free weights. On the right of side of the room are tall windows reaching from floor to ceiling. “Weight Room – Free Weights, Resistance Machines, Heavy Bag, Weightlifting Racks” text disappears. In the center of the weight room, a staircase leads up to the second floor cardio room. A wall of mirrors lines the wall opposite the windows in front of the free weights area.

Adjacent to the weight room is seven basketball courts. “Basketball Courts” text appears. Three groups of patrons play basketball together. Above the courts on the second floor is the indoor track where patrons jogging overlook the basketball games. “Basketball Courts” text disappears.

Overlooking the courts to the left, up to a small set of stairs, is the lounge with couches, wooden tables, and chairs. Two patrons sit together at a wooden table watching the basketball games. “Lounge – TV, Foosball, Billiards, Table Tennis” text appears. Up an inclined ramp adjacent to the lounge and basketball courts is more seating areas in addition to billiards and foosball tables. “Lounge – TV, Foosball, Billiards, Table Tennis” text disappears.

Continuing on toward the back of the building are floor to ceiling windows and two sets of glass exit doors. Beside the exit doors on the left-hand side is a gymnasium with a set of three courts separated by floor to ceiling mesh curtains. Outside the courts are lockers lining a wall beside the table tennis area. On the back wall of the rightmost court is the climbing wall. “Climbing Wall – Bouldering, Belay, Free Climb” text appears. Panning from left to right across the wall, patrons watch as climbers scale the wall. “Climbing Wall – Bouldering, Belay, Free Climb” text disappears. Below the climbing wall are two badminton courts. “Badminton Courts” text appears. Two sets of patrons pass the shuttlecock with their racquets. “Badminton Courts” text disappears. The center court is a volleyball court. “Volleyball Courts” text appears. A group of patrons pass the volleyball to one another in a circle. “Volleyball Courts” text disappears. The leftmost court is an indoor playfield encircled with a barrier and netting. “Indoor Field – Roller Hockey, Soccer, Lacrosse” text appears. A small group of patrons kick a soccer ball to one another on the far end of the court. “Indoor Field – Roller Hockey, Soccer, Lacrosse” text disappears.

Exiting the three courts, between the lounge and three courts is a staircase leading up the second floor. On the second floor, up the stairs and to the right, down a long hallway, is an area for free weights and floor mats on the right side overlooking the indoor playfield. On the left side of the hall are two squash and racquetball courts. “Squash & Racquetball Courts” text appears. Two patrons play racquetball in the first court. “Squash & Racquetball Courts” text disappears.

Next to the squash and racquetball courts is a fitness classroom with three walls of mirrors where patrons participate in TRX. “Fitness Classroom – TRX, Kickboxing, Pink Gloves, Zumba, Yoga” text appears. A group of patrons use resistance equipment in the center of the room.  “Fitness Classroom – TRX, Kickboxing, Pink Gloves, Zumba, Yoga” text disappears.

Exiting the fitness classroom, at the end of the hall is another fitness classroom with two walls of mirrors and one window in the back corner of the room. “Fitness Classroom – Spin, Gravity, Meditation” text appears. Patrons use indoor cycling equipment.  “Fitness Classroom – Spin, Gravity, Meditation” text disappears. Outside the fitness classroom in the center of the common area is a staircase leading downstairs to the locker rooms and main entrance/exit.

When exiting the fitness classroom and turning right down another hall, lockers line a wall behind the staircase railing. A cushioned bench sits against the wall before a third fitness classroom on the right. “Fitness Classroom – Yoga, Dance, BodyPump” text appears. A mirror lines the wall in the front of the room and there are large windows in the back corner and side of the room. Patrons practice yoga on mats. “Fitness Classroom – Yoga, Dance, BodyPump” text disappears.

Exiting the fitness classroom and to the right down the hallway are a pair of gendered restrooms and at the end of the hall is an open space with cardio equipment. “Cardio Room – Ellipticals, Treadmills, Spin Bikes, Stair Climbers, and more” text appears. Patrons using ellipticals and treadmills face a glass-windowed wall looking down onto the pool and spa. “Cardio Room – Ellipticals, Treadmills, Spin Bikes, Stair Climbers, and more” text disappears.

On the left side of the pool area are swimming lanes where patrons swim laps. To the right is a pool for playing volleyball. The swimming lanes and pool for volleyball are connected by a small channel of water. Two patrons enter the free swim area, one throws a volleyball over the net while the other dives underwater. “Pool and Spa – Free Swim, Swim Classes & Lessons, Spa” text appears. A lifeguard sits in a tall chair overlooking the lanes. Another lifeguard stands between the pool and spa. Across from the free swim area, is the spa where two patrons are relaxing. “Pool and Spa – Free Swim, Swim Classes & Lessons, Spa” text disappears.

Returning to the second floor, on the wall opposite the windows overlooking the pool are two additional squash and racquetball courts.

Past the courts further down the hall, there a staircase on the right leading to the entrance/exit and on the left is a small hallway with cardio equipment leading to the staircase near the indoor playfield. Past the stairs, to the first-floor entrance/exit are patrons using weight machines and working out on floor mats. Past the floor mats on the right is a circuit training area where patrons use resistance machines. “Circuit Training Area” text appears. Exiting the circuit training area and continuing down the hall are more mats on the floor. “Circuit Training Area” text disappears.

The mats are located against a railing overlooking the weight room on the first floor. At the end of the hall is another open area with patrons using cardio equipment. “Cardio Room – Ellipticals, Treadmills, Spin Bikes, Stair Climbers, and more” text appears. A staircase in the center of the cardio room leads downstairs to the first-floor weight room. “Cardio Room – Ellipticals, Treadmills, Spin Bikes, Stair Climbers, and more” text disappears.

On the left side of the hall, adjacent to the cardio room, is a ramp leading to the indoor track. Panning from left to right, “Indoor Track” text appears. The track overlooks the basketball courts on the first floor below. “Indoor Track” text disappears.

The patron exits the track down a small set of stairs and walks down the staircase near the windows overlooking the pool. On the first floor, to the immediate right of the staircase is the exit gate.

The patron exits through the gate and two sets of doors outside the Student Recreation Center. “Explore the Student Recreation Center urec.wsu.edu” text pops in. “Explore the Student Recreation Center urec.wsu.edu” text pops out.
