Hanon, Amanda

My fitness lifestyle started when I picked up long distance running for a couple years after I graduated high school, and I even completed a few half marathons. Running helped me appreciate my body’s abilities and significantly decreased my asthma symptoms by helping increase my respiratory capacity. I was learning what my body could actually do, and I wanted more! Once I started transitioning to weight training I actually had push back from a lot people around me because it wasn’t conventionally “feminine”. I persisted many different and challenging times. Being able to feel strong and capable on a daily basis by your own hand is an incredible feeling, and I wasn’t about to give that up for anything. Once I fully realized how passionate I had become about weight training I decided I wanted to help others find their niche and experience their own successes.
All this to say, don’t let anything get in your way, including yourself. I used to do that. I kept myself from going after what I wanted and reaching my potential because I didn’t want to feel dumb, feel like a beginner, or because of the way people might look at me. With diligence, I’ve gotten away from those habits. I want you to be free from those challenges too! We all start somewhere and you deserve better than mediocracy. I also learned over time that fitness is not a body type, it’s a way of life. Finding a form of physical fitness that you enjoy, keeps you healthy, and that you will stick with is so important. I’ll help you find that passion that aligns with your goals. I’m here for YOU. I want to help you succeed and be your biggest fan.
“I live a life of leisure and lift heavy weight, balance is not something you find, but something you create.” -me

Rojas, Eduardo "Eddie"

Hey Everyone! My name is Eddie Rojas and I cant tell you how much I am looking forward to helping you achieve your goals. When I first got into fitness, I felt so lost an overwhelmed with how much information there was about it that I didn’t even know where to start. Through many years of trial and error I was finally able to figure out my calling in life. I figured out I want to study kinesiology in order to become both a personal trainer and a physical therapist. I want to show you how life changing fitness really is and how you can reap the benefits from it. Sometimes fitness can be overwhelming because of so many styles of working out, dieting, warming-up, cooling-down, and so many other things but I am here to make sure that I make an individualized plan that specific for YOU.
A little bit about myself is that I was originally born in Lima, Peru and lived there for 8 years before I moved to Washington. I am fluent in Spanish so I can go back and forth between both English and Spanish if that I something that you need! I am currently studying kinesiology and aspire to become a physical therapist down the road. I started lifting when I was in 8th grade and have plaid football, wrestled, and ran track all of my years in high school. This has shaped me to have a love and a deep passion for anything fitness. Lets get started!

Shafer, Olivia (Online Only)

It's not hard to start, and tomorrow won't wait. The body you desire and lifestyle you admire are available to you NOW, and it's as simple as taking the first step. Literally. Start moving. We've all been in that funk of wanting to be fit but not knowing how to get there, or worse, feeling those first-year pounds adding up. Let me shine some light into your life - I'll do all the thinking, you just show up. You see? Simple.
Enough about you, here's a little about me: My athletic obsession has been increasing since birth. Reckless games of touch football, basketball and hockey in the street kept me in shape for various sports such as soccer, softball, lacrosse, waterpolo, shotput and discus, as well as managing my high school football team. Realizing I couldn't ignore my passion of athletics I left the life of Italian restaurants to commit to the life of training and motivating others - it was a terrifying leap. I've been gifted mentors since I started following my passion who have taught me better discipline, the importance of goal setting, and how taking the first step usually comes before believing in yourself. I'm a 28-year-old junior at WSU studying psychology with Masters ambitions of sport psychology. My years as an athlete and trainer, paired with my studies, puts me in a unique position of compassion mixed with drive - I'll fight for your well-being if you're willing to do the same.

Skoromnaya, Liza (Online Only)

One of the most amazing things about fitness is it can be done anywhere. Furthermore, it’s free! It doesn’t matter if you are new to working out, looking for some guidance, or you are just trying to achieve a goal; everyone starts somewhere. Together, we can work on creating something that works for you, and helps you reach your full potential. Additionally, as a kinesiology student I will be able to build you a personalized program utilizing the fundamental principles of exercise physiology. With this skill set, I am confident we can achieve your goals.
I grew up struggling with being over weight and not knowing what to do about it. No one in my family worked out, so I had no help. When I got older, I decided to take my health into my own hands and do something about my situation. I started boxing and working out, which was so hard because I didn’t know what I was doing. I met some amazing people who coached me, trained me, and helped me grow and progress in my fitness journey. Since then I have lost weight and fell in love with a healthy life style that allows me to feel confident and proud. Just like the people who came into my life, I want to be able to give back to the people who are looking for someone who can help them achieve their goals.

Turner, Devon

You only have one body, only one vessel to navigate the world. With hard work, discipline, and a love for the grind you can achieve a body, and mind that can conquer any obstacles that life or the world throws at you. But, like most things worth having it takes effort, and strong will to get. While working together, we can direct your hard work, and will overcome in a way to most efficiently reach any goal that you set for yourself.
Growing up playing sports, I always had a love for physical activity and fitness. Although it took arriving at college where that love for fitness became a passion for a healthy lifestyle and achieving goals that I set for myself. After transferring to Washington State University, I found that I don’t only love reaching my own goals but also helping others achieve their own fitness dreams. While putting in the work to reach your goals you learn how to fight adversity and what it feels like to achieve a goal that you set for yourself, these are massively important lessons that can help you throughout your life.

Wakaba, Ben

“To attract better, you have to become better yourself. You can’t do the same things and expect change.” This is my philosophy towards fitness and all aspects of life. Fitness not only helps you physically, but it can greatly help improve your mood and lifestyle. It can also help you reach goals you thought were unattainable. With my help, I can help you reach your fitness goals while answering questions and concerns. With my major in Kinesiology and minor in Strength and conditioning, I am well equipped for programming an exercise plan specifically for you.

Growing up I was overweight, but I wanted to change but I never took time to exercise. Once I got to WSU I had access to a full gym and began taking my health seriously with exercise. At first, I had no idea what I was doing and just went through the motions exercising when I felt like it and not working towards a specific goal. I finally met someone who was able to guide me in the right direction towards fitness and help me feel good about the way I look. I was able to lose 20 pounds while also gaining muscle. I want to be able to provide you with the same support that I received and help you reach your goals.

Xiaerzhate, Ai Li Ti "Shirzat"

When it comes to training, too many people exercise blindly and think there are “shortcuts” to achieve fitness goals.  Additionally, in order to achieve a healthier lifestyle, along with dedication and self-control, there is a big component that the majority of population is missing out – fitness knowledge.  Do not fall prey to the false shortcuts.  Rather, seek adversity and challenges that will catalyze a healthier you.

By accepting these challenges there will inevitably be barriers you must overcome. However, the barriers we overcome today will build character for us tomorrow. As your personal trainer, I will help you leap these hurdles. In addition, my ultimate goal is to make sure you reach a level of confidence and fitness knowledge that you will be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle in the future.

As an international student, I lived a very sedentary life in an environment where sport and fitness was not highly valued. Personally, I have experienced a lot of common setbacks through my journey of training, such as not getting the results I wanted, exhaustion in training, injury, and many other impediments that I had to overcome. I know it is hard, but as your personal trainer I will be able to help you navigate any barrier you encounter.  Together we can reach any fitness goal you set for yourself.
