Come learn Wilderness First Aid instructed by NOLS Wilderness Medicine. This course features hands-on curriculum focusing on real world application/scenarios to better prepare you for your outdoor adventures. This two-day course covers a wide range of wilderness medicine topics for people who travel in the outdoors. Whether spending time in the backcountry is your passion or your profession, you should never ask, "What do I do now?" On this course, you'll learn how to prepare for the unexpected. NOLS' curriculum is unique and includes many advanced topics other programs leave out such as dislocation reduction, focused spinal assessment and epinephrine administration. In just two days, you'll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations. This course is ideal for trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts, students conducting fieldwork in the backcountry, and individuals in remote locations. NOLS' course is pre-approved by such organizations as the American Camping Association, the United States Forest Service, and other governmental agencies. This course does not include CPR. Students will be required to sign NOLS' Student Agreement (including Assumption of Risks and Agreements of Release and Indemnity). Trip rating is level 1. No experience necessary! As a general reminder, we’ll be continuing to maintain social distancing and hygiene standards recommended by the CDC. If you need to cancel, please contact Cancellation Policy: In order to minimize our environmental impact, maintain facilitator-to-participant ratios, meet permit criteria, and equipment transportation logistics, ORC trips are often programmed for small groups (typically up to 6 participants with 2 facilitators). Late cancellations can seriously impact our ability to accommodate others and recover costs. • Cancellations made up until 4/8 will receive a full refund. • Cancellations made from 4/9-4/22 will receive 50% refund. • Sorry, no refunds are given past 4/22.
