University Recreation playfields and outdoor spaces are currently closed due to poor air quality.  At this time, the air quality is currently in the unhealthy range. If you have outdoor activities planned, please seek indoor alternatives until the air quality improves.

Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour

The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival highlights the many aspects of mountain culture throughout the world. The showing at WSU will be made up of several films that vary in length from two minutes to full-length feature film productions. If you are an outdoor enthusiast or appreciate adventure films, you won't want to miss this spectacular event! The 2021 event will be virtual. Click here to purchase tickets for Banff.

The Pullman Pulldown

Whether you are a beginner or a more advanced climber, everyone is welcome to attend and participate in the Pullman Pulldown, an annual bouldering competition held each spring at the SRC Climbing Wall. This event provides the opportunity for fun and friendly competition between everyone in our climbing community. The 2020 Pullman Pulldown takes place on March 28th.

Palouse Outdoor Festival

The Palouse Outdoor Festival engages participants in outdoor recreation, promotes environmental stewardship, showcases local resources, and fosters community. This is a chance to try outdoor activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, and rock climbing for FREE! Get the information and register for activities here. This event takes place on August 28, 2021.

Outdoor Photography Contest

Show us your skills as you capture the beauty of the outdoors! The Outdoor Photography Contest and Exhibit is an annual event sponsored by WSU’s Outdoor Recreation Center and Student Entertainment Board. This contest is open to any amateur photographers.
