04/15-04/16 Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid program is an interactive session aimed to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and treatment. This course introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact and overviews common treatments. Like CPR training helps a non-medical professional assist an individual following a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps an individual who doesn't have clinical training assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis .

Prerequisite

You must be able to attend the full session for certification. If you are a Mental Health Professional, this course may not be for you as it is fairly introductory in nature. Please contact Erin Carroll at ebcarroll@wsu.edu with any questions. If your department will be paying for your enrollment, please email and IRI to Erin Carroll.
