Student Recreation Center & Chinook Access

Moms can access the SRC or Chinook with their WSU Student free during Mom’s Weekend. If you are sneaking away while your WSU Student is in class, purchase a $10 Special Event Weekend Pass for access to the SRC or Chinook for Thursday-Sunday. If you are only visiting for one day during your visit, you may purchase a single day pass for $8.

Tea & Spa

Chinook 25

Treat your mom and yourself to a delightful English tea and spa experience. Appointments are 1 hour long and consist of a 20 min massage including neck, shoulders, arms, hands, followed by 40 minutes for tea, dessert, a fun craft and peaceful conversation time for mother and student.
Appointments available Friday 4/6, Saturday 4/7, and Sunday 4/8. Register online.

Kayak Tours

Enjoy quality time with your mom in the great outdoors! Snake River, located only 30 minutes from WSU’s campus, is perhaps one of the most well-known and scenic rivers in the entire United States. Come enjoy everything this river has to offer while you explore the river in your own sea kayak. This trip runs rain or shine. Trip rating is a level 1, no experience necessary. Trip cost includes; kayak rental, transportation, and trip facilitators. Food and personal clothing is NOT provided on this trip. Register now for the kayak tour on:

Open Climb

SRC Climbing Wall

Enjoy quality time with Mom at the Student Rec Center Climbing Wall for a session of indoor climbing where our climbing wall supervisors will help you climb to the top! No experience necessary! Our staff will help you gear up and head up the wall. We will provide basic movement orientation, technique tips and the expertise of self-proclaimed climbing guru’s. If you have never participated in this sport, our staff will happily belay you up the wall and support you on this experience.

Dates: Sunday, April 8,10:00am- 12:00pm or 12:00pm- 2:00pm. Please register online by Friday, April 6.

Group Bike Ride to Moscow

Take Mom on this b-e-a-utiful bicycle ride across 10 miles of the Palouse on the Bill Chipman Trail to neighboring Moscow, Idaho. You’ll leave the Outdoor Recreation Center and head across the state line where you’ll have the opportunity to exploring downtown shops, cafes, and restaurants. You can bring your own bike or you can rent one of our bikes from the rental shop. There are limited quantities so reserve a bike early!

Dates: Saturday, April 7,4:00pm- 7:00pm. Please register online by Sunday, April 1.

Mom's Challenge

SRC Backyard Challenge Course

Want an opportunity for you and your Mom to work together and explore your limits? This unique challenge will be the ultimate bonding experience for you and Mom. Join us for a programmed session where we climb our 72ft tall Giant Ladder and ground based obstacles. This program will be physically and mentally engaging, and can accommodate all needs.

This indoor cycling class offers a challenging workout for patrons of all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist of joining us for the first time, you’ll be able to control your intensity level as the instructor leads the class through simulated terrain accompanied with great tunes and energy pumping drills! Spin is sure to build your cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance! Don’t forget to bring your water to sip as you spin! Non-members of the SRC will need to purchase a special event weekend pass or a guest pass upon entering the SRC.

Pink Gloves Boxing

Pink Gloves Boxing is a female focused boxing conditioning class designed to give a total mind and body workout by challenging participants through learning the basics of boxing and focusing on leadership, community, and goal achievement. This is great opportunity for moms and daughters to knock out stress and reveal the champion within! Non-members of the SRC will need to purchase a special event weekend pass or a guest pass upon entering the SRC.

*This FREE WSU CrossFit class will be a great workout for both mom and Coug son or daughter. If you have never participated in a CrossFit class, or you are a seasoned veteran, come join us in the Chinook at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 7 for a great workout that will get the blood moving!
