2014-2015 SCF Award Winners
Sport Club of the Year Award
Nominated for, in just their second year, placing 4 women in regionals, advancing two to zones and one to nationals, creating a team environment out of an individualized sport, promoting the club in a positive manner to the WSU community, and committing a huge amount of time and effort to the club and their horses.
Women's Ice Hockey
Nominated for volunteering at tournaments and events, cheering on other sport clubs, and representing WSU with phenomenal sports with their opponents, officials and game staff, and amongst their own team. The women’s ice hockey team competes in the Moscow adult league, and has repeatedly been recognized by other teams and the referees for promoting a positive game environment and exhibiting amazing sportsmanship.
Club Member of the Year Award
Allison Thomas-Cougar Crew
Allison was arguably the biggest contributor to the lightweight team and the main reason for their success. She stepped up and served as Vice Commodore this year which entailed taking charge of the team’s fundraising efforts and travel plans. Her approachability makes her well suited for her role as the connection between the officer corps and the rest of the team. Allison, a graduating senior, also spent countless hours making a quilt for the live auction at the annual banquet.

What are Sport Clubs?
The Sport Club Federation is comprised of student-run sport clubs that work together under the umbrella of University Recreation to provide competitive programs for the students of Washington State University. Each club elects their own officers, provides a representative to the Sport Club Federation Council, raises funds, arranges their competitions and activity schedules, and promotes their organizational activities.
