Looking to get outside and play? University Recreation offers Outdoor Facilities including the SRC Backyard, Slackline Course, Playfields, and Tennis Courts. Please pay special attention to parking specifications as permits may be required in parking lots surrounding the facility. SRC Backyard
The SRC Backyard offers students the opportunity to get outside and play. The Backyard consists of three full outdoor basketball courts and four sand volleyball courts. These courts stay open, weather permitting, until 10:00 p.m. each evening. The Backyard is fully-lighted, and equipment is available to check out inside the SRC for no charge to current SRC members! Indoor restroom facilities are available in the Backyard Building adjacent to the SRC.
Slackline Course
Slackline Course located in the SRC Backyard. Six poles will provide you opportunities anywhere from beginner to expert. Slackline lengths and difficulties range from 14 feet to 60 feet and give you the chance to work your slacklining skills. Bring your own slackline or check one out at the SRC Membership Desk located inside the building. The Slackline Course is open anytime the SRC Backyard is open. Valley Road Playfields
Valley Road Playfield is an outdoor field turf facility that is operated by UREC for Open Recreation, Intramural Sports and Sport Club Federation participation. This facility is available for open use but can also be scheduled for use by campus and community groups through University Recreation Scheduling or by emailing urec.scheduling@wsu.edu. A specific University Recreation policy indicates that pets are prohibited from the facility and is strongly enforced. Restroom and field lighting accommodations are available during University Recreation use as well as other scheduled activities. Grimes Way Turf Playfield
Grimes Way Playfield is an outdoor field turf facility that is operated by UREC for Sport Club Federation participation. Grimes Way can also be scheduled for use by campus groups through University Recreation Scheduling or by emailing urec.scheduling@wsu.edu. Field lighting accommodations are available during University Recreation use as well as other scheduled activities. A specific University Recreation policy indicates that pets are prohibited from the facility and is strongly enforced.
South Fairway Playfields
South Fairway Playfield is an outdoor grass facility that is operated by UREC for Intramural Sport and Sport Club Federation participation. This facility is not available for open use but can be scheduled for use by campus groups through University Recreation Scheduling or by emailing urec.scheduling@wsu.edu. A specific University Recreation policy indicates that pets are prohibited from the facility and is strongly enforced. Rogers-Orton Playfield

Gesa Field
Gesa Field (formerly Martin Stadium) is an outdoor field turf facility that is shared between UREC, Athletics, and Physical Education. University Recreation utilizes Gesa Field for Intramural Sports throughout the school year. Due to the playing surface, cleated shoes are strongly recommended for active play. Gesa Field is not available for rental.
Rogers Field
Rogers Field is an outdoor field turf facility that is operated by the Washington State University Athletic Department. University Recreation utilizes Rogers field solely for the purpose of Intramural Sports and the Sport Club Federation for various leagues, competitions and practices throughout the school year. Due to the playing surface, cleated shoes are strongly recommended during Sport Club Federation activities and Intramural Sports participation. Rogers Field is not available for rental.
Outdoor Tennis Courts
The Washington State University Outdoor Tennis Courts opened in Summer 2007. The courts are located on North Fairway Road, down the hill from the Student Recreation Center. Courts are available on a first come first serve basis with lighting available until 11:00 p.m. You may check out tennis rackets at the SRC Membership Desk.
