Climbing Wall and Outdoor Recreation Equipment

  • Adaptive Climbing Harness Offers participants with sufficient upper body strength additional freedom of movement while still providing a padded seat and integral harness for security. It offers a firm, padded support of the lower body and complete upper body freedom. The participant is secured to the harness via leg loops, waist and chest.
  • Adaptive Kayak: Creating Ability's Universal Paddling Seat for kayaks was designed with one purpose in mind: to open the sport of paddling to everyone.  Regardless of the level of support needed, the seat provides as much or as little support as a paddler needs. The back structure consists of pelvic, lateral, lumbar, and upper-back supports.  The back has several vertical adjustments to fit different torso lengths and types.  The upper unit (the upper-back rest and laterals) can be adjusted independently or removed completely, for those who don't need the high-level support. The optional addition of two outriggers on the back of the kayak increases the stability of the vessel.
  • Back of Hand Adaptation: Creating Ability's Back-of-Hand adaptations are designed to relieve the stress of holding the paddle from the fingers and move it to the arms.  If the paddler has the ability to grasp the paddle but lacks endurance or tires easily, this is the correct adaptation.
  • Wrist Grip Paddle Adaptation: Even if you have no ability to grasp, you can paddle with these Creating Ability paddle adaptations.  A wristband is worn on the wrist that slides in a keyhole slot on the paddle. This provides a complete connection that allows you to paddle, even with an open hand. Yet, it safely releases without any secondary action.
  • Paddle Pivot: The combination of our Universal Base with this pivoted paddle adaptation allows one-arm control of the kayak. It also provides support to completely remove the weight of the paddle from the paddler's arms. The pivot assembly snaps on to any paddle shaft, and the paddle & pivot assembly lifts out of the base for ease of entry and safety in the event of a wet exit.
  • Cushioning Systems: A universal fitting bean-bag style seat pad that will work in any kayak. Simply strap the bag around the seat mounts, sit in the boat, wiggle around, and then suck the air out of the tube valve to create a custom fit seat pad. Includes peel & stick velcro pads that attach to your seat to prevent slipping. A simple and comfortable solution for any sit-inside whitewater, recreational or touring kayak.
  • Foam Outfitting Kits: Kits contain 3 types of high-quality foams and are designed in dimensions most useful for outfitting various paddle craft to the specialized needs of an individual paddler who has a disability.
