UREC for All: Our Commitment 

We commit to empowering our students and community members to succeed through equitable support and engaging programming. We foster an inclusive climate that enables all to thrive

We welcome everyone to participate in our group fitness classes. Our program provides diverse opportunities to the WSU community through over 180 classes per week in 45 unique formats. We train our instructors to ensure equitable, positive experiences that fit various exercise needs and incorporate all fitness levels and experiences.

Accessibility:
University Recreation values providing programs and activities that are accessible. We are proud to provide equipment and programming that creates an inclusive environment and makes every reasonable effort to be accessible to everyone.  Reasonable accommodations are available with adequate prior notification. Contact Joanne Greene at 335-9669 for more information. 

UREC fitness classes are supported by the WSU Services & Activities Fee.

All Fall Session 1 classes are FREE to members during All Access Week. No prior, separate registration required from August 23-29; drop-in’s welcome. Those who already registered for Session 1 classes can attend classes during this week. Non-members need to purchase a day pass to enter the facility during All Access Week but will need to purchase a membership to register for Session 1 classes.

FREE FITNESS FRIYAY

Every Friday (beginning on August 27) we will be offering FREE fitness classes varying in format at the SRC. No prior registration required; drop-in’s welcome. Non-members need to purchase a day pass to enter the facility.

PICK-2 DISCOUNT

Purchase ANY 2 classes and receive $10 off your purchase! Classes must be purchased at the same time to receive the discount.

PUNCH PASS

We are selling punch passes for patrons to attend ANY class of their choice (except PGB), as space allows. Registered patrons get priority. Patrons who are not registered can purchase and use punch pass cards in increments of 1, 5, and 10 classes. Non-members will need to purchase a day pass per entry on top of the punch pass card to enter the facility and attend classes. Punch pass patrons need to show their punch pass card to the instructor to be marked.

REFUND POLICY

We base our policy following the first day of the class, not the day of registration: Full refund within 6 days following the first class; 50% refund within 13 days. No refund will be given after 13 days following the first class, not registration date.

SUMMER SESSION 1: MAY 10-JUNE 20

*There will be no classes on May 31 (Memorial Day).

All in-person classes, except Taekwondo, are open only to students and members at this time. Registration is open until May 21 here.

We will be offering FREE fitness classes varying in format every Friday, starting May 14. Prior registration per patron is required at the bottom of this page.

SUMMER SESSION 2: JUNE 21-AUGUST 1

*There will be no classes on July 4 (Independence Day) and August 1 (SRC Closed Week). Classes will still happen on July 3 and 5.

Gain access to all in-person classes with the GROUP FITNESS PASS for $15! Click here to purchase a Session 3 Fitness Pass. Please note Session 3 fitness classes are on a first come, first served basis. The Fitness Pass does not guarantee a spot; capacity remains limited to maintain physical distancing.

Based on Phase 3 guidelines, here are the capacities per room:

Chinook 20 (Spin) = 10

Chinook 20 (STRONG, Mo-Flex) = 15

Chinook 22 = 15

Chinook 30 = 21

Chinook B40 = 16

Separate registration is required for the two online Yoga classes. Registration is open until August 15 here.

FREE Special Event Fitness Classes

Join us for a variety of fun fitness classes! We have FREE online and in-person options at the Student Recreation Center. Non-members with a WSU NID will be able to join online classes but will need to purchase a membership to access the facility for in-person classes. Registration is required; no drop-ins currently permitted. The Zoom links for online classes will be emailed upon registration.

Supplement hard work at the gym and fitness classes with time to relieve muscle tension and cool down. Emphasizing body recovery and awareness while improving mobility, range of motion, and flexibility, techniques will include stretches, foam-rolling, animal flow sequences, and more.
