This event is a collaboration between the ORC & the WSU LGBTQ+ Center, all bodies and skill levels will be welcomed and celebrated. Located only 30 minutes from WSU’s campus, the Snake River is perhaps one of the most well-known and scenic rivers in the entire United States. Come enjoy this beautiful river with a group of friends in a scenic location.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore the river from their own stand up paddle board. Whether you are an experienced paddle boarder or you have never been on a paddle board before, this trip will be a great experience! This is one of our most popular and well-liked trips- so register early!

Trip rating is level 1. No experience is necessary. Trip cost includes; paddle board rental, transportation, and an Adventure Facilitator (food is NOT included so bring a snack and some water). This trip runs rain or shine.

This 3-day instructional climb teaches you some of the basics of glacier mountaineering in a winter environment, including camp set-up, self-arrest, snow anchors, as well as glacier and rope techniques while ascending this beautiful giant of the Cascades. We'll be ascending as high as 10,000 feet of elevation, with an overall ascent height of up to 5,000 feet. While technically in the spring time-frame, this climb will get you exposed to similar conditions and skills needed for winter alpine climbing. We'll take in extravagant views and get up close and personal with the high mountain environment!

Join the ORC for an intermediate 5-day sea kayak expedition in Washington’s San Juan Islands. Advance your sea kayaking skills as you explore one of the most majestic and iconic locations in the Pacific Northwest. The San Juan Island archipelago ecosystem is populated by some of the most spectacular wildlife in the country. Each day we’ll adapt our pace and plans to navigate the tides and currents in the channels of the Salish Sea. With our camping equipment packed neatly into our boats, we’ll search for a new island (and campsite) to call home each night.
