Sport Club Marketing
Working with Student Affairs Marketing
-
Before you start
Identify your budget and check how much money you have to spend.
Check with your advisor first.
Include our marketing team early so we can point you in the right direction
-
Making your request
Make your request to marketing via email and cc your UREC advisor
Within the required timeline, send the following info:
Content: What you’re promoting, who, when, when, where, why and how
Budget amount and budget code
Timeline (when is your event, when do you need materials)
Quantities and sizes for apparel
Who needs to be involved with proofing (coaches, captains, etc.)
Inspiration and Ideas are welcome
-
Proofing & Approval
You can design your own pieces; however, your sport club represents University Recreation. Student Affairs Marketing needs to review and approve before ordering apparel and other public-facing items.
-
Ordering & Distribution
To place orders, we need your budget code, quantities, sizes, shipping address.
If marketing coordinated the design, we can place orders.
Payments will go through our marketing p-card, and your budget will be charged in WorkDay.
We can distribute on-campus advertisements like flush flashes, digital signage, and sandwich boards.
Branding Guidelines
-
General Guidelines
We cannot use branding elements, fonts, or other imagery associated with WSU Athletics.
Official marks and verbiage needs to include a TM or ® symbol: https://trademarks.wsu.edu/university-marks/
Don’t create your own logos. Talk to Student Affairs Marketing first.
-
Apparel
Apparel must be ordered through licensed vendors. The list can be found online: https://trademarks.wsu.edu/licensed-vendors/
There are rules about which logos we can use and how, and we cannot recreate or modify logos: https://trademarks.wsu.edu/university-marks/
There are also new Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) rules that limit how we can use imagery of student athletes, which applies to sport clubs.

Print Pieces
UREC and Sport Club branding should be included
