Description

It’s easy to come up with excuses for NOT going skiing. Maybe you don’t want to shell out $50 for a tank of gas or maybe you don’t have a vehicle capable of making it up to the mountain. The ORC is here to save the day! The ORC will provide transportation to and from the mountain. All you have to do is show up! Don’t have skis or a snowboard? Come down to the ORC earlier in the week and rent skis or snowboard equipment for the trip. There simply is no acceptable excuse for missing out on the ski season this year. Ski rentals, lift tickets and food are NOT provided on this trip. Ski rentals can be purchased at the ORC to avoid lines at the resort. Silver also has tubing, snowshoeing, and a water park. Trip rating is level 1. Trip cost includes transportation to and from the Mountain. (Food, lift tickets, ski and snowboard rentals, and instruction NOT included). Participants may not be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs during an ORC activity. Drugs and alcohol are not permitted in WSU vehicles/vessels or at campsites (or other accommodations) at any time. Depending on the severity of infraction of rules and policies, a range of disciplinary actions may take place from a verbal warning to removal from activity, contacting local authorities, and the office of student conduct. Cancellation Policy: In order to minimize our environmental impact, maintain facilitator-to-participant ratios, meet permit criteria, and transportation logistics, ORC trips are often programmed for small groups (typically up to 6 participants with 2 facilitators). Late cancellations can seriously impact our ability to accommodate others and recover costs. • Cancellations made up until 4 weeks prior to the registration deadline will receive a full refund. • Cancellations made within 4 weeks of the registration deadline receive 50% refund. • Sorry, no refunds are given past the registration deadline. If you need to cancel, please contact urec@wsu.edu. The Outdoor Recreation Center programs have a minimum participation required for each trip. If the trip or clinic does not have enough participants or faces hazardous weather conditions, the program may be cancelled or subject to change at the discretion of the ORC Coordinator.
